How We Say Hi extends the body, involving actions such as reaching, waving, intersecting, interlocking, and measuring one body with another.
It aims to unravel the intricacies of greetings as a form of communication.
A Post-Thetic is an extension of the body that reaches, nots, waves, intersects, interlocks, and measures one body with another.

A Post-Thetic investigates greetings as a mode of communication, deconstructing the hierarchy embedded within each gesture of hello.
What does it mean to shake someone's hand versus give them a high five?
Why are they considered formal and informal?
This project uses color and texture to emphasize the gestures that are usually unconscious and embedded in our habits.
When these gestures are made bright and loud we notice them and their relevance or irrelevance. Through this emphasis I am able to expose the playfulness of social interactions and hopefully help others reflect on how we might say hello.
This project also begins to expand what it means to make space with others through the ability to measure the distance between each body, and create a network/web from a group of people.
By creating an interlocking system this project can capture a person's momentary gesture and help them to visually measure their distance to other people in the space.
